Ps Moses mentioned a good phrase today, 'Hot heart and a cool head'. It basically means being passionate, but by using rationale and some thinking, you will do the right things. In some things, I'm pretty much the opposite. Cool heart and a hot head. I pretty unemotional and I make quick judgements, ouch!
I've decided to give up something in my life today. Yup, this moment. No more mulling over it. Zero.

Unexpected Access
I am watching Unexpected Access now. It's a gross show! The doctor was operating on a 4 month year old baby's skull. This is what happens: the scalp is peeled until a little of the eyeballs are revealed, a section of the skull is taken out (bone dust is seen), then it's put back.
Disgusting as it is, I really thank God for giving us the medical knowledge and knowhow. Everything that we know and have comes from God. Some may scoff and see it as achievements of the human race. But we are really nothing without God. Seeing how even babies are saved through such operations is nearly a miracle.

Even though it appears bright here, it's actually dark. Lights have been turned off and Amanda is desperate for a clueThe choir had a post production party last night to celebrate our achievements of 2009. I learned a new game call Blind Man's bluff. The 'blind man' had to walk in the dark and catch any of us who is walking around. When a person is caught, he gives his hand to the blind man to touch. Just from touching the hand, the blind man guesses whose hand it is. It was awesome fun!

He just not that into you
Rather than being a full-on comedy, this movie is bittersweet. There was a recurring line, 'If he really wants to ask you out, he will.' It was in response to Gigi who didn't believe that. It's not super true for Singaporean guys, no? Anyway, I have another line to retort, it goes: If a girl is not interested, she doesn't know how to say so. While the move showed 2 sides, it was slanted more to girls being the victim. But somehow, it was rather painless to watch.
You should watch it if you have extra cash. If you're cash-strapped, save it for Slumdog. :)

This a must-watch movie. It's heart-wrenching, funny and suspenseful. I have nothing further to add than what's been already said by the media. :)

Week 7
Sorry all, I haven't got the pictures uploaded from my Dad's Nikon.
I have another performance coming up. Please come watch because it's free. It was be held at the Upper Concourse Esplanade. 7.15 and 8.15 pm, 23rd and 24th February. Just a few more days!
School has never been more slack. It's right now Week 7 in SMU's academic calendar. Two of my mid term exams were relatively easy. For Marketing, it was 72 MCQ questions! The test was at 3.30pm. So on that day, I woke up at 7.30 am, opened up my marketing textbook and read til 1 pm, NON-STOP. Cherie, I really owe you. Your marketing textbook was so appropriately highlighted! It truly made my reading easier.
Then of course, the bigger test was for Management Science. Because it's mostly math, and I'm good at math, I wasn't all too worried either. BUT my Prof is famous for hard papers, so I pretty much studied hard for it. And today's MS test was pass-able. Haha, go figure that.
Well, before the storm is a calm. I still have mountain loads of work to do, but that won't stop me from enjoying life! :)

Wash my feet
Ps Aaron did a pretty interesting thing at service yesterday. To install the new assistant Zone Supervisors, he washed all their feet in front of everyone. There was video-recording of the whole thing.
Sometimes, I wonder, is it necessary to use such cliche visual representations? I'm now taking Marketing 101 module in school, so inevitably, my first thought was 'this is a good marketing strategy!' Of course I felt bad after that because no one else but me would entertain such ideas.
Alternatively, he should have just made the ceremony a private thing and that would maybe be more meaningful for the AZSs themselves. If you were there, you would agree with me that there was a huge effort to make it seem like a big show; Music, lights, video streaming etc. On top of that, the audience, or maybe just me, felt a little awkward and alienated. In the middle of it all, people started talking among themselves!
Nonetheless, I'm proud of my friends who have become the AZSs. It's a tough mandate but I'm sure that God is with them and things will change. Some things already have and I'm so grateful for that.
