Blading

My three fingers on my left hand are screaming, "We're in pain, Anna. If you have common sense, don't ever pick up a guitar again!' Well, I tried playing the guitar today, it's not my first time, but my, it sure was hard. It was an accoustic guitar so the strings really bit into my flesh. But I'm still determined to learn some more. Then again, I always say such things.

I took an hour off in the morning to practise rollerblading at a void deck of the next HDB block. Gabriel doesn't think I'm up to task for travelling to East Coast Park on my blades. Yeah, we have a park connector, probably 3.5-4km long, linking our house to ECP. Gab was teaching me how to do those swift, smooth turns. For quite a while, I totally wasn't getting anything. I was awkward as a crow!

Gab: Left foot front, right foot behind and just stick your legs together!
Me: Well, I am trying!
...
Gab: Don't use the blade's brakes. Do T-braking, it's more cool.

Finally, I did get a little of my left turn right. Not perfect but getting there! I tried practising for right turn... Nah, didn't work out. I shall try it out some other day.

I'm considering picking up a new language, Korean to be exact, at a language school. But I'm rather busy tutoring and school will start in a month's time. It's quite a regret.

New skates

I bought new skates! MUAHAHAa.. THanks Daddy! You simply spoil me too much.

And Evan made me this really cute card. It had a rainbow, lots of stars and flowers. And colours! Thanks a million! This girl signed off herself as MY favourite person. Haha, so funny.

New Wallet

Finally, I got my new wallet! It's my first elongated wallet and I purposely chose one that would flip-flap open, such that it doesn't need a buckle. I learnt my lesson from my old wallet, the whole buckle broke down. LOL.

The Mug

The mug, so cute!

Thanks Evangelin for the mug. She claims that it's my birthday present. Haha, er, do you know that it was in early May??

My left ankle is swollen cos I sprained it while walking at the Telok Blangah Connector. It looks a little disgusting. Like, 'whose foot is that?'
My student forgot to come for lesson this morning. So i spent the whole morning uploading photos into Facebook!

New Wall shelf

Wall shelf, featuring the classic Winnie the Pooh
I've got a new wall shelf! Please do not be taken in by its simple look. You have no idea how much work was done to assemble it and then to fix it up. And since it obviously wasn't done with superglue, my daddy had to use a drill, and my, what a terrible noise they made. Not only that, to make drill holes, my dad also had to mark out the drill points... so that all of them would align to make it straight! Due to errors, the drilling had to be done three times over!!!
And er, haha, I hardly helped. All my bros said it was such a bad buy. It came with a price tag of $45, unassembled. Guess its source? Ikea, of course. If I ever buy any furniture from there again, hit me on the head.

A Great Daddy

Happy Fathers' Day, Dad!

I believe no words can describe what it means to be a father because it's so much more than providing financially for the family. How does a man learn to accomodate the emotional needs, and it must be a challenge for my father cos I'm argumentative [sometimes only, haha] and my love language is quality time, of which he has little of.

Nevertheless, good job Dad! I'm never fail to be amazed how much you toil under the sun for us, 6 days a week. To beat the ERP, you have to set off at 7.30 am and often you return after 8. [Then again, I've come to learn that you're a natural workaholic and you like what you do.] And I've also come to understand that one of the greatest reasons you work so much is so that you'll never have to say 'no' to my silliest requests. For eg, that day, I smsed you that I wanted a particular camera and requested a 50% sponsorship from you. [I figured since I'm working, it's a little spoilt of me to ask you to pay in full] Your immediate reply was, 'not 50% but 100%'

Apart from the material, Dad, you made me feel loved by calling me your 'baby girl' and 'princess'. Sometimes we hold hands or link arms when we walk together too. You've imparted to me your love for food and in the car and over dinners, you like to talk about business, economy or oil prices.

What does it take to be a father? There are too many criterias but you did get them altogether. :D Happy Fathers' Day!

FTT FAILED

I managed to find on the comfort del gro website when's my test date and realised that it would take place in 1.5 hours. I quickly studied for it and ultimately I still failed. Even before I clicked the 'Finish' button, I knew my results already; there were far too many questions in which the answers were guessed.

Get me a donut, please?

FTT

OH NO. I know my Final Theory Test is either today or tomorrow but I've lost the receipt. The test is in the morning, but is it 9 am or 10 am? [And I totally have not studied. What is wrong with me?]

Maybe I should just skip it altogether. Not like I'm going to have a car to myself any time soon.

Hey Mr Tortoise

I've been journaling [not an English word apparently] everyday for half an hour each time. It's a habit I'm cultivating for several reasons and it helps take off my itch to blog, that's why I've NOT been blogging.

And I've got a new camera, the Canon Ixus 80 IS! It's blue.

My friends and I stumbled on an unlikely place today - MacRitchie Reservoir. Check out the tortoise I spotted in the waters. We were there from 2.30 to 5 plus, I think. Somehow we agreed that being there together was quite surreal and I personally realised that it's good to spend time with people you don't really know that well. It's refreshing to open up to such people, but they have to be trustworthy first, cos you get back from them a different perspective of life.
