My review:
A slow-moving show, with a couple of dashes of nude scenes, the story could be deemed as poignant but just not directed well. And, the ending! Seriously, endings are so important yet directors are so clueless abt them. December boys are about 4 orphans who have been given a 2 week holiday by the beach. Of course they were estatic since they live in outback Australia where the dessert rules. I was most interested in Maps [or isit Max?], the oldest, who is becoming a hot-blooded teen and he meets Lucy, a pretty pretty pretty pretty girl. Maps was played by Daniel Radcliffe, so it felt weird to see him in a non-harry potter movie. Misty is a freckled boy who gets on my nerves by being 'holy' since he wants to get adopted. Since December boys is based on a classic novel, there isn't really a clear storyline. It's just to show how brotherhood is a noble thing but what struck me most was the carefree spirit the children had. Anyway, December Boys was hard to chew cos of the cultural and time difference.
